Pizza East, Portobello.

One of my favourite local restaurants, Pizza East has the perfect balance between casual dining and fresh, very tasty, affordable food. The menu is simple and yet covers all bases. The staff is super friendly and attentive. The location is perfect (for me) and the atmosphere is lively without being hectic. I also love the interior decor.

The restaurant works in winter as well as in summer. Tables outside get most of the sun in summer, even late in the day. With the area going through a huge gentrification process, Golborne road has improved beyond recognition. In winter the cosy, warm interior decoration makes for a lovely experience.

I strongly recommend the crispy pork belly pizza or the veal meatball pizza and the avocado vinaigrette. As for a vegetarian option, I find the tenderstem broccoli with feta and pea shoots delightful.
