The Ashes 2009 (0 Days)

0 Days before the start of the 2009 Ashes Test Series...

The wait is over. The most enthralling cricket test series is upon us! Forget the Twenty20 world cup or insignificant series between India and the West Indies. This is it. This is the business. A series that has been played since 1882 producing 31 series wins for the Aussies and 28 for England.

The series schedule looks as follows:

First Test
8-12 July
Cardiff

Second Test
16-20 July
Lord's

Third Test
30-3 August
Edgbaston

Fourth Test
7-11 August
Headingley

Fifth Test
20-24 August
The Oval

Freddy fully fit, Lee out with an injury. In all seriousness, that could be the deciding factor in the first test. With Brett Lee ripping through the English Lions last week he is the experienced spearhead of the Aussie attack and in my opinion the individual tests are going to be won by the side that has the bowling edge. There's enough batting talent in both lineups to expect a decent innings from both England and Australia in that department, however I believe it will be the most crippling bowling display that will win either side the games.

There are going to be some amazing catches, epic shots and series changing performances over the next month and a half. All I can hope for is that the series is still in the balance come the last test at The Oval because I will be there!!

Well enough talk, let's get it on.
If you are a Sky TV customer, they offer free online video coverage of the Ashes.

My prediction, 2-2 series drawn.

Enjoy!
