The Wonderful World of the Water bottle

There have been many, little things I've learned since having 2 children, however one completely random and surprising fact I've come to understand over the past few years is the ridiculously humongous  collection of toddler water bottles you acquire.

Once they start school, they require a water bottle and so it starts. We have a special cupboard designated purely for water bottles. There must be 200 in there. I have a sneaking suspicion they build water bottles little Apple builds iPhones these days. To have ever decreasing shelf lives and basically expire and disintegrate or self destruct like Inspector Gadget's messages.

I must have drunk water as a kid, but I'm pretty sure l didn't accumulate water bottles like the Predator collected human skulls. When did this ridiculousness start? Was I not hydrated properly as a child? Or are the water bottle marketing execs across the globe pissing themselves for pulling a fast one on all of us?

I walked into the lost and found room at my daughter's school a while back, and besides a large number of clothing items, naturally, I'm not kidding you, there must have been about 478 water bottles piled up in there. And not a single two were the same...
