"The Shot"

I wanna be like Mike...

Michael Jordan hits the game winning shot against the Cleveleand Cavaliers in the fifth game of the 1989 first round playoffs, downing the Cavaliers in the best of five series. One of Jordan's defining moments this play is thought to be one of the most spectacular moments in his illustrious career and to many it is known simply as "The Shot". 

Game 2 Eastern Conference Finals 2009 LeBron James does the impossible. With 1 second left on the game clock his catch and shoot buzzer beater from beyond the 3 point line wins Cleveland the game. The fans will feel they were due one. 

Two of the greatest shots of all time but which one is better? 

To me that will depend on it's significance in the larger picture. Do the Cavaliers go on and win the Championship it will be hard to argue against that shot being "The Shot".
